It’s actually no laughing matter, and quite embarrassing for people who have loud snoring problems. It is also difficult for those people who are subjected to hearing the noise and disruption. In both cases, Sleep Apnea interferes with getting a good nights sleep.
Oddly enough, the person doing the snoring is in danger of all types of issues, which may result from this condition.
Some are listed below:
- Pauses in breathing while sleeping often followed by snoring or gasping for air
- High blood pressure
- Daytime Tiredness
- Nighttime sweats
- Difficulty concentrating
- Dry mouth or a sore throat in the morning
- Morning headaches
- Mood changes
- Depression or Anxiety
Recently, I have seen articles, which discuss other medical problems sleep apnea can cause. For example, Osteoporosis, Arthritis, and Parkinson’s disease. As senior citizens, we want to make sure that we are up-to-date on these issues, and have our doctors evaluate us thoroughly.
How about you? Are you getting a healthful night’s sleep?
